“I try to make paintings that look the way my memories feel; Imprecise and dreamlike while still familiar. I work from observation, documenting the kinds of details that end up defining a place for me, which are often humble architectural moments that show the human hand. It is important to me that the materiality of paint never gets lost in service of the image, and I play with that tension. I am interested in conveying a sense of place, and the passage of time."
