"In my paintings I examine relationships of color and line. Currently I am drawing upon images from nature, incorporating descriptive line within defined color areas. At times, I discover emblematic shapes, which emerge from abstract fields of paint. They may evoke nostalgia and memories of landscape beyond the tangible experience of nature.
Over the years, I have found that through painting I can respond intensively to external stimulation in a variety of forms: music, the written word, as well as landscape. My response is an ongoing process, a constant conversion in which a concrete format is discovered and then transformed into a body of works: paintings, prints, drawings – often more than a hundred within a focused exploration."
